Calendula the healer

 

 

Calendula oil is a macerated oil from Marigold flowers (Calendula officinalis). A powerful oil with anti fungal, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
These properties make it a useful oil in healing wounds, scars and burns. It contains Carotenoids that are moisturising and softening. Calendula is soothing on sore inflamed skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, bed sores and nappy rash. Carotenoids and flavonoids give the flowers their bright yellow and orange colour. These compounds eliminate free radicals and boost antioxidants which help the growth of new skin cells. Calendula has anti-ageing properties reduces wrinkles and age spots.

Calendula Hand and Foot balm

We use Calendula oil as an ingredient in our Calendula hand Balm and Calendula & Peppermint foot balm.
It is blended alongside Coconut oil and Organic Shea butter to help moisturise and soften dry hard cracked skin.
Calendula hand balm is formulated with a blend of essential oils with Lavender, Eucalyptus, Tea tree and Benzoin. These oils are antibacterial and soothing for dry skin and chapped hands. The balm can be used on any dry skin area and is beneficial to the healing of wounds and burns.
Calendula & Peppermint foot balm also contains peppermint oil which is cooling and refreshing on tired feet. Benzoin oil is soothing for dry hard skin.

Chamomile balm and Calming oil

Our Chamomile balm contains Calendula oil with other powerful ingredients. Evening primrose oil as it is a great moisturiser. Papaya seed oil will reduce inflammation. Chamomile essential oil is a great soother and calming too. This balm is great for skin rashes, eczema and psoriasis. It is soothing and moisturising on inflamed irritated skin.
Sharon’s Essentials Calming oil has similar properties. This oil contains Calendula oil with evening primrose, papaya seed oil and St John’s wort oil. St johns wort oil is great anti-inflammatory oil soothing on inflamed skin. Beneficial for skin rashes and burns including sun burn. The Calming oil and Chamomile balm have the same essential oil blend with Chamomile, Lavender and Bergamot. The oils have calming and soothing properties as well as being anti-bacterial.
